Cartoon Network Valentine’s Bumper
A valentine’s day bumper created for a mock Cartoon Network Bumper. Both were created to have the same style, giving a fun, lighthearted Valentine’s Day feel.
Animated using After Effects and Procreate.
1080 x 1920 px, 11-12 seconds.
Bumper 1
The first bumper displays characters that are primarily pink or red from shows that broadcast on Cartoon Network. These include Blossom, Anais, and Spinel.
Animatic
There were only a few deviations from the original storyboard regarding a few elements and the logo animation at the end.
Storyboard
The original depiction of the “CN” logo was going to show a recolored logo to match the colors of the animation. However, in the Cartoon Network’s standard brand manual, the logo is never to appear as any color other than black and white.
So, to follow the guidelines, the color on the animation was changed from two different color pinks to black and white.
Bumper 2
The second bumper includes the same characters displayed differently with an animation of each character’s head.
Animatic
The original idea did not translate well to After Effects, and due to time restraints and the nature of the project, some elements were changed or cut from the original storyboard.
